Bandits have once again unleashed terror on the Gusau-Funtua road, abducting passengers from at least three vehicles near Margazu village in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The criminal gang also blocked the road at several other points, including near Unguwan Chida and neighboring communities, where they intercepted and abducted passengers from a total of five vehicles.
Local residents reported that the bandits, some of whom were killed in the incident, have been increasingly active along this route, taking advantage of the rainy season to disrupt traffic and carry out their attacks. According to one resident, the bandits have been emerging daily to attack commuters and forcefully take them into the forest.
ASP Yazid Abubakar, the spokesperson for the Zamfara State Police Command, confirmed the incident, stating that soldiers have been deployed to the affected areas to pursue the bandits and restore order.
