In a bid to drive positive change in the community, Xchange Hamma Media Service, in collaboration with the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism and the MaCathur Foundation, recently conducted a two-day training programme for 20 young journalists, social media influencers, and activists.
The intensive training session, held on August 13, 2024, focused on equipping participants with advanced skills in investigative journalism and development communication.
Expert facilitators led engaging sessions on digital journalism, ethics, and development reporting, providing valuable insights and practical tips.
In his keynote address, A. Imam stressed the importance of staying current with the latest knowledge and ideas to achieve meaningful outcomes.
Abdullateef Jos and Malam Aminu Adamu Naganye, renowned experts in the field, presented papers on digital journalism, ethics, and development reporting, emphasising the profession’s governing rules and the dominance of digital journalism.
The resource persons urged participants to prioritise ethics and community interests in their work, while also emphasising the importance of maintaining their safety.
Zaharadden Adamu an activist Godiya Ibrahim Mass Communication students who attended the training from Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge.
