BREAKING: Kano Governor’s Aide Resigns, Joins APC

Abdulraham Mai-Kadama, the Senior Special Assistant on Entrepreneurship to Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, has resigned from his position and defected from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mai-Kadama announced his decision to join the APC after meeting with Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin in Abuja on Wednesday. Before his defection, Mai-Kadama held a prominent role as the leader of the G-6 in Kano State.

In a Facebook post, Deputy Senate President Jibrin welcomed Mai-Kadama’s move, highlighting the ex-aide’s commitment to promoting good governance and accelerating development in Kano and across Nigeria.

Jibrin wrote, “Another plus for the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a top member of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and the Kwankwasiyya movement, Abdulrahman Mai Kadama Kwankwasiyya, has joined our party. Today, he visited my residence in Abuja, where he symbolically removed the red cap and joined the largest political party in Africa, the APC.”

Following his defection, Mai-Kadama, who has now adopted the name Mai-Kadama Maliya, urged his political allies to follow suit and join the APC. He also formally resigned from his position as Senior Special Assistant on Entrepreneurship II to the Kano State Governor.

“The grassroots politician called on his young political comrades to join our great movement to deliver more dividends of democracy to our people,” Jibrin added. “As I have said before, our party, the APC, is the only party genuinely committed to enhancing the standard of living of our people. Let’s do it together; the train can accommodate all.”
