More than 20 medical and dental students, along with a House Officer, have been abducted by gunmen in Benue State.
The students, hailing from the University of Maiduguri and the University of Jos, were en route to the annual convention of the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students (FECAMDS) in Enugu when the incident occurred.
The abduction took place around 5:30 p.m. in the Otukpo area of Benue State, where the students were ambushed while traveling in a group.
SP Catherine Anene, spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation has been launched into the kidnapping.
