Alhaji Saidu Ibrahim has officially taken over as the new Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Katsina State, following the retirement of his predecessor, Hajiya Aisha Muhammad. Muhammad stepped down from her role on Friday after reaching the mandatory civil service retirement age of 60.
The transition of leadership was marked by a brief handover ceremony in Katsina, where Ibrahim emphasized the importance of continued support and collaboration among staff to fulfill the NYSC’s mission in the state. He pledged to maintain an open-door policy, vowing to prioritize the welfare of both staff members and corps members.
“Katsina State is like a second home to me, as I completed part of my secondary education here,” Ibrahim stated.
In her farewell remarks, the outgoing Coordinator, Hajiya Aisha Muhammad, expressed gratitude to the Katsina State government for its support, which she credited for the accomplishments achieved during her tenure. She also praised Ibrahim as a seasoned officer and urged all stakeholders, including staff and corps members, to extend their full cooperation to him as he takes on his new responsibilities.
