Sen. Abdul Ningi Trains Farmers on Technique of Rice, Maize Farming

Senator representing Bauchi Central in the National Assembly,Sen.Abdul Ahmed Ningi has organised a three day research training and empowerement on rice and maize farming for his Co-ordinators and Deputy Co-ordinators from the ninety six political wards in the Senatorial district.

Declaring the training open at Misau Local Government Area of Bauchi State,Sen.Abdul Ahmed Ningi who said the aim is to widen the horizon of the participants to enhance their farming skills pointed out that this was part of his commitment to enhance food security.

Sen.Abdul Ningi represented by his Senior Legislative Aide,Ibrahim Waziri Zadawa explained that some selected farmers from the six Local Government Areas to include Misau, Dambam,Ganjuwa,Darazo,Ningi and Warji benefited from the initiative.

One of the facilitators from World Bank Centre of excellence for food Technology and Research Benue State University Makurdi, Nathaniel Afaor noted that Bauchi State is one of the highest producers of maize in the country.

Speaking on behalf of Sen.Abdul Ningi’s Cordinators,Alh.Magaji Nasaru,urged the participants to step down the knowledge acquired to the grass root.

Some of the beneficiaries interviewed Umar Maigamo and Lawal Pandum appreciated the Federal Law Maker for not leaving his people behind.

At the end of the training all the participant were provided with mini rice harvester,liquid fertilizer,seed,sprayer and sixty thousand naira.
