The British Army has launched a new recruitment campaign aimed at Nigerians and other citizens from Commonwealth countries, inviting them to apply for a variety of roles within its armed forces.
This recruitment window, which runs from August 19 to August 26, 2024, offers opportunities for Nigerian applicants to join as musicians, Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Royal Engineers Technicians, tradesmen, and paratroopers.
The British Army has highlighted the vital contributions of Commonwealth soldiers to its ranks, underscoring their ongoing significance within the organization.
Applicants must apply through the Recruit Bounty Referral Scheme, with the exception of those seeking positions as musicians.
Candidates will be required to pass several fitness tests, including the multistage fitness test (commonly known as the beep test), seated ball throw, and mid-thigh pull. To maximize their chances of success, the British Army recommends that applicants quit smoking and maintain a balanced diet in preparation for these assessments.
Successful candidates will be required to travel to the UK for further evaluation in October and November 2024. Basic training for those selected is scheduled to begin between January and March 2025.
