In a grand ceremony held at the National Mosque in Abuja, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Friday gave away his daughter, Laila Atiku, in marriage to Saleh Maitala. The event marked the culmination of a traditional courtship process that began last year when Atiku hosted the Maitala family to formally request Laila’s hand in marriage.
Sharing the joyous occasion on X.com, Atiku expressed his happiness, writing, “The joy of giving away a daughter in marriage, supported by family and friends, is priceless. I wish Laila and her husband, Saleh Maitala, a blessed marriage.”
He also extended his gratitude to the dignitaries, associates, and friends who attended the wedding Fatiha, honoring the family with their presence on this special day.
