Ex-China National Petroleum Corp. Chairman Wang Yilin Arrested for Bribery

The Supreme People’s Procuratorate (SPP) has ordered the arrest of Wang Yilin, former Chairman of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), on allegations of bribery, according to a statement released by the SPP on Wednesday.

Wang Yilin, who also served as the secretary of the leading party members’ group within CNPC, has had his case formally transferred to prosecutors for further examination.

The SPP stated that Wang would face prosecution following the completion of the National Commission of Supervision’s investigation into his activities.

In late July, it was announced that Wang had been expelled from the Communist Party of China, marking a significant development in the case.
