BREAKING: Bruno Labbadia Rejects Super Eagles Head Coach Role

Bruno Labbadi has reversed his decision to become the head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had announced on Tuesday that the experienced German coach would lead the national team. However, fresh reports from Germany indicate that the 58-year-old has declined the offer to manage the three-time African champions.

It appears that the NFF made the announcement prematurely, as they had not finalized a contractual agreement with Labbadia. He was initially slated to oversee the Super Eagles in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

In light of Labbadia’s withdrawal, Austin Eguavoen, the NFF’s technical director, may now step in to coach the team for the upcoming qualifiers.
