North Central APC Condemns Governor Sule for Endorsing Ganduje

The North Central Forum of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed strong disapproval of Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule’s recent endorsement of Abdullahi Ganduje as the party’s National Chairman. The forum, led by its chairman Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, criticized Governor Sule’s actions, labeling them as motivated by personal interests rather than the welfare of the North Central region, the APC, or the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement issued from the forum’s headquarters in Jos, Plateau State, Zazzaga accused Governor Sule of betraying the region by supporting Ganduje’s leadership. This, he argued, was particularly egregious given the ongoing push by party stakeholders in the North Central to reclaim the National Chairmanship position, which they believe should rightfully return to the region following the resignation of Abdullahi Adamu, a fellow Nasarawa indigene.

Zazzaga, who served as a member of the Presidential Campaign Council in the last election, emphasized that Governor Sule’s endorsement of Ganduje undermines the region’s collective interests and disregards the party’s zoning arrangement, which initially placed the chairmanship in the North Central.

“Governor Sule’s actions demonstrate a lack of commitment to the progress of his state and the North Central region as a whole. His decision to support Ganduje is not only insensitive but also a betrayal of the principles of equity and justice,” Zazzaga stated.

He further criticized Governor Sule’s understanding of the APC’s ideology, pointing out that Sule, who joined the party later, might not fully grasp its progressive values. Zazzaga also questioned Governor Sule’s contributions to the APC, particularly during the 2023 elections, where the party’s performance in Nasarawa State was less than satisfactory.

“Governor Sule’s leadership has faced criticism from multiple quarters, and his administration’s achievements in Nasarawa State have been called into question, especially given the increased allocations the state has received. The people of Nasarawa State deserve more, and it is clear that Governor Sule’s endorsement of Ganduje does not align with the region’s best interests,” Zazzaga concluded.
