Two people have been confirmed dead, and two others were rescued alive following the collapse of a two-storey building in Nomansland, located within Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State.
According to reports, the building came down around 2 a.m. on Thursday, during a heavy downpour. The structure was reportedly situated close to a waterway, and the overflow caused by the rainfall is believed to have led to the collapse.
Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, confirmed that two survivors had been pulled from the rubble and rushed to the hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, two other victims were found deceased as rescue operations continued.
Emergency services are still on the scene as efforts to clear the debris and search for potential survivors persist.
