Katsina to Roll Out ₦70,000 Minimum Wage to Workers, Says Radda

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to implement the new ₦70,000 minimum wage recently announced by the Federal Government.

Speaking during the Public Engagement and 2025 Citizens Budget Participation Process, as well as the launch of the Community Development Programme in Katsina on Thursday, Radda highlighted his administration’s commitment to ensuring the smooth rollout of the new wage structure.

“Katsina State is poised to be a leader in implementing the new minimum wage. We are currently awaiting the federal government’s guidelines on the implementation process to ensure a smooth and effective rollout,” the governor stated.

He further emphasized the administration’s focus on improving public sector performance, stating that ongoing reforms aim to enhance service delivery and ensure that only qualified individuals serve in leadership positions.

“Our commitment to public service reform is unwavering. We have introduced measures like competency tests as a requirement for entering the public service and for assigning leadership roles in government offices. These initiatives are crucial to building a capable and efficient workforce dedicated to serving the people of Katsina,” Radda added.

The governor reassured that the administration is adopting a proactive approach to employee welfare and public sector efficiency.

“With the introduction of service delivery reforms and the readiness to implement the new minimum wage, our administration is following a comprehensive strategy to improve governance and uplift the lives of Katsina State residents,” he concluded.
