Kwankwaso Writes Off PDP as ‘Dead’, Sets Sights on 2027 Presidential Election

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has boldly declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) “dead” in the Nigerian political landscape.

Speaking on Saturday at the inauguration of a newly renovated NNPP office in Katsina State, Kwankwaso attributed the decline of the PDP to his and his supporters’ exit from the party. “I wish to remind you that PDP is dead because we left the party. Since they have gone out of the line, we decided to check out,” he remarked.

Looking ahead to the 2027 presidential election, the former Kano State governor expressed confidence in his party’s ability to secure the presidency, asserting that the NNPP is poised to not only take over the country’s top office but also govern multiple states.

Kwankwaso urged Nigerians not to be swayed by monetary incentives or gifts during the upcoming election, emphasizing the importance of informed and conscientious voting.

In his address, the NNPP chairman for Katsina State, Armaya’u Abdulkadir, emphasized the party’s ongoing efforts to educate the electorate about its new logo. Abdulkadir explained that the logo, which symbolizes a commitment to education for all, reflects the core philosophy of the Kwankwasiyya movement led by Kwankwaso.

“There is a need for grassroots sensitization to inform members about the significance of the new logo,” Abdulkadir said, underscoring the party’s focus on education as a driving force for change.
