Zamfara SSG Attends Banking and Finance Conference in Abuja

The Secretary to the Zamfara State Government (SSG), Malam Abubakar Mohammed Nakwada, represented His Excellency, Governor Dauda Lawal, at the 17th Annual Banking & Finance Conference, held from September 10th to 11th, 2024, at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

Governor Lawal, a former banker with an esteemed reputation, was invited by the organizing committee, chaired by United Bank for Africa’s Group Managing Director/CEO, Mr. Oliver Alawuba, to serve as the Special Guest of Honor during the event’s opening ceremony. However, due to pressing commitments in Zamfara, Governor Lawal delegated Malam Nakwada to attend on his behalf.

The conference, themed “Accelerated Economic Growth and Development: The State of Play and Way Forward,” was organized by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN). It is the largest annual gathering of banking and finance professionals in Africa, attracting over 10,000 participants, including industry professionals, policymakers, regulators, academics, and key stakeholders.

According to a statement from Suleman Ahmad Tudu, Senior Special Assistant on Media in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, the event provided a platform for discussing pivotal issues affecting the financial sector and shaping the future of Africa’s economy.

Governor Lawal’s decision to assign his capable SSG reflects his commitment to fulfilling his primary duties while ensuring Zamfara State maintains a strong presence at key national events.
