More success and breakthrough against armed banditry, troops of Operation Hadarin Daji have eliminated four notorious bandit leaders in Zamfara State, according to reports from PRNigeria. The neutralized criminals—identified as Ibrahim Nagure, Lawali Dodo, Kadiri, and Jambaleri—were brought down in a coordinated military operation that followed the successful elimination of Halilu Sububu, a key figure in orchestrating terrorist activities across the North West.
Simultaneously, military forces apprehended Hosseini Osman, another high-profile terrorist kingpin, in Plateau State. Osman was captured in Ganawuri village, Riyom local government area. During interrogation, he admitted to orchestrating multiple deadly attacks throughout the state, including a recent assault on Ganawuri village that resulted in the tragic deaths of civilians. Osman also revealed his involvement with a local kidnapping syndicate responsible for a string of abductions in the area.
Utilizing intelligence gathered from Osman’s capture, troops swiftly mobilized to Kyaram village in Kanam local government area, where they successfully rescued several abducted individuals.
In another operation, a defense intelligence source informed PRNigeria that troops ambushed terrorists fleeing from the Sambisa Forest toward the Mandara Mountains in Gwoza local government area. This ambush inflicted heavy casualties on Boko Haram fighters and led to the capture of a significant cache of weapons and ammunition.
Meanwhile, in Kaduna State, troops raided a suspected terrorist hideout in Gobarawa Forest, located in Birnin Gwari. The operation caused the criminals to scatter, and military forces recovered five AK-47 rifles, 16 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, and five motorcycles abandoned by the fleeing terrorists, according to a military defense source.
Earlier reports confirmed that Halilu Sububu had been a major player in fueling violence in Zamfara before his elimination on Thursday. An intelligence source revealed that the military’s aggressive clearance operation led to Sububu’s death, along with numerous bandits. Troops also seized several weapons, ammunition, and motorcycles used by the terrorists.
Investigations by PRNigeria revealed that Sububu had been responsible for the killing of a drone pilot and an operative from the Department of State Services (DSS) two months ago. He was also implicated in numerous civilian abductions and killings in Zamfara.
