Minister Calls on Nigerians to Support Flood Victims in Maiduguri, Zamfara

Hannatu Musawa, the Minister for Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, has extended her heartfelt condolences to the people of Borno State, who were severely affected by recent floods.

In a statement released on Monday by her media aide, Nneka Anibeze, in Lagos, Ms. Musawa also expressed sympathy for the residents of Zamfara State, who suffered tragic losses due to both a boat accident and devastating floods.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost their loved ones, homes, and livelihoods in Borno and Zamfara,” the minister said. “We urge all Nigerians to support the ongoing relief efforts and exemplify the true spirit of unity and solidarity.”

Ms. Musawa also called on Muslims to reflect on the teachings of Prophet Mohammed, particularly emphasizing love, compassion, and unity in the face of such challenges.

“As we celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad, let us be reminded of the importance of living in harmony and fostering peace within our communities,” she added.

The minister reiterated the commitment of her ministry to promoting Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and creative industries, noting that the arts could play a significant role in fostering national cohesion and social transformation.

“As we observe Eid-el-Maulud, let us harness the power of art, culture, and creativity to inspire hope, resilience, and unity among our people,” Ms. Musawa remarked.

She concluded by wishing all Muslims a blessed and joyous Eid-el-Maulud celebration.
