BREAKING: Kano Gov Dissolves Sole Administrators Ahead of LGs Elections

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has dissolved the 44 sole administrators of local governments across the state, in preparation for the upcoming local government elections scheduled for November 30, 2024. The announcement was made during a special meeting held at the Government House with the sole administrators.

Governor Yusuf ordered the immediate transfer of local government leadership to the administrative directors of each council. He further instructed that vice chairmen, secretaries, and councilors should also step down from their positions.

The governor expressed his gratitude for the contributions of the outgoing administrators, acknowledging their efforts toward the development of their respective areas. He emphasized that the government remains open to continued collaboration with them in other capacities.

In response, the dissolved administrators expressed appreciation to Governor Yusuf for the opportunity to serve their communities during their tenure. They pledged their continued support for the state’s development initiatives.

This move is seen as part of broader efforts to ensure smooth and transparent local government elections in Kano.
