High-Stakes Meeting: Terrorists Gather in Zamfara to Choose New Leader

Bandits in Zamfara State gathered at the residence of the late Kachalla Halilu Sububu in Tungar Daji, located in Anka Local Government Area, to elect a new leader. The meeting, which took place yesterday, followed the death of the notorious Sububu, a bandit leader who was recently killed in a successful military operation alongside several of his gang members.

Kachalla Halilu, a feared figure in the region, had long been a target of Nigerian security forces due to his involvement in widespread violence, kidnappings, and other criminal activities in Zamfara and neighboring states. His death marked a major blow to the network of bandit groups terrorizing the region.

Bashiru Altine Guyawa, a security analyst based in Sokoto, confirmed that the bandits are conducting a three-day prayer session in honor of their fallen leader before proceeding to the selection of his successor. “After the prayers, the terrorists are expected to hold an election to appoint a new leader to replace the late Kachalla Halilu,” Guyawa revealed, indicating that this transition is critical for the gang’s future activities.

In a dramatic display of wealth, the bandits have been flaunting large amounts of money left behind by the late Kachalla Halilu. The funds, some of which have deteriorated due to long-term storage, were discovered in over 200 sacks in his house. Additionally, the bandits have unearthed hidden caches of gold and other precious stones, which the deceased leader had stored, and are reportedly preparing to distribute these assets among themselves.

The gathering highlights the enduring influence and wealth these criminal groups possess, even after the death of a prominent leader. As security forces continue their efforts to dismantle bandit networks in the region, this latest development underscores the complexity and resilience of these groups, which are driven by both power struggles and the pursuit of vast wealth.
