FRSC Partners with Zamfara Fire Service for Highway Emergency Response

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has established a collaboration with the Zamfara Fire Service to enhance the ability of its personnel to respond to fire-related emergencies on highways.

This initiative was formalized during a courtesy visit by the FRSC Sector Commander, Umar Massaudu, to the Zamfara Fire Service Director, Abdullahi Jibbo, in Gusau on Wednesday.

Commander Massaudu highlighted that the primary objective of the partnership is to train and retrain FRSC officers in firefighting techniques to improve their capacity for rescuing accident victims, particularly in situations where road crashes result in fires. He emphasized the importance of equipping FRSC personnel with the skills to operate firefighting equipment, noting that such expertise is crucial for saving lives and minimizing property damage.

In addition to requesting training, Massaudu appealed to the state fire service for assistance with firefighting tools, including fire extinguishers.

In response, Director Jibbo assured the FRSC of his department’s full support, stating, “We are fully prepared to provide you with the necessary fire prevention tools and mechanisms. By equipping FRSC personnel to handle fire outbreaks effectively during accidents, we can save more lives and protect property.”

The partnership marks a significant step toward improving highway safety and emergency response in Zamfara State.
