Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, witnessed widespread protests on Tuesday as youths took to the streets, voicing their frustrations over the growing economic challenges plaguing the nation.
The demonstrators urged President Bola Tinubu to reconsider his administration’s removal of fuel subsidies, which they argue has contributed to the skyrocketing cost of living and escalating food prices.
The protest began at the renowned Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, located at Old Garage, with participants marching through key areas of the city. The march covered major routes, including Oke-Fia, Dada Estate, Dele Yes Sir, and Oba Adesoji Aderemi Way, before concluding at the Olaiya flyover junction in the Ogo-Oluwa area.
Chanting solidarity songs, the protesters emphasized their demand for economic relief. Security forces accompanied the march, ensuring a peaceful demonstration without any incidents of unrest.
