The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has officially released the 2024 in-school National Business Certificate (NBC) and National Technical Certificate (NTC) examination results.
Dr. Nnasia Asanga, NABTEB’s Acting Registrar/CEO, made this announcement at the board’s headquarters in Benin, expressing pride in the prompt release of the results. He highlighted that this timely action underscores the management’s dedication to advancing education, particularly in the area of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
“This achievement reflects the board’s unwavering commitment to the progress of education, especially in the TVET sector,” said Dr. Asanga. “The swift release of these results is expected to benefit candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions.”
He revealed that of the candidates who sat for the NBC/NTC examinations, 44,000 candidates—representing 65.34 percent—achieved five credits or more, including English Language and Mathematics. Furthermore, 62,235 candidates, or 92.42 percent, earned five credits or more with or without English Language and Mathematics.
However, Dr. Asanga noted that the overall performance in 2024 is slightly lower than that of 2023. Last year, 39,220 candidates (73.19 percent) achieved five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, while 49,529 candidates (92.43 percent) attained five credits or more with or without English Language and Mathematics.
Despite this slight dip, the board remains optimistic about the continuing impact of the examinations in promoting technical and business skills across Nigeria.
