The European Commission has pledged an additional €30 million ($33 million) in humanitarian aid to Lebanon, aimed at providing essential resources such as food, shelter, and healthcare to those in need.
Janez Lenarčič, the European Commissioner for Crisis Management, emphasized the urgency of the support, stating that the aid is designed to “promptly assist those affected by conflict in Lebanon, ensuring they receive immediate relief.”
This latest package will be coordinated through the European Union’s Civil Protection Mechanism, a platform established to streamline the coordination and distribution of emergency resources across member states.
To date, the European Union has contributed more than €104 million in humanitarian aid to Lebanon in 2024 alone, reflecting its ongoing commitment to support the country amidst the challenging circumstances.
