The notorious terrorist kingpin, Bello Turji, is reportedly in a state of panic, according to the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa.
Musa stated that Turji is under immense pressure following the military’s intensified operations against terrorist strongholds in the northwest. Speaking at the inaugural Annual International Lecture on Thursday in Abuja, the Defence Chief emphasized that recent military successes, including the killing of Halilu Buzu and other key terrorist commanders, have instilled fear within Turji’s camp.
General Musa added that Turji’s recent actions clearly reflect a man in distress. “From his behavior, it is evident that he is in a state of panic,” the CDS said. “He once spoke and acted as though he was fully in control, but now, he realizes he is no longer in charge,” Musa added.
The Defence Chief’s comments come amidst renewed military efforts to weaken terrorist groups and restore peace in the region.
