Katsina Records ₦2 Billion Revenue for September – Officials

The Katsina State government has announced that it generated ₦2.024 billion in Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) for the month of September.

This was disclosed in a statement on Friday by Sada Shu’aibu, Director of Corporate Communications for the State Internal Revenue Board. Shu’aibu quoted the board’s Executive Chairman, Muhammad Isiyaku, who described the revenue achievement as impressive, attributing it to efforts by the state to block financial leakages and the introduction of a Central Billing System.

Isiyaku emphasized that the board is committed to maintaining this momentum to ensure that the state has sufficient funds to implement projects that benefit the public. He reaffirmed the state government’s determination to continue improving its IGR.

Commending Governor Dikko Radda for his support, Isiyaku also expressed gratitude to the state’s Ministry of Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning, along with other relevant MDAs, for their cooperation.

He urged the revenue agency’s staff to continue working diligently toward the board’s objectives, while cautioning them against engaging in fraudulent practices, warning that anyone caught would face sanctions.

Reflecting on the board’s progress, Isiyaku noted that when he assumed office in November 2023, the state’s IGR stood between ₦700 million and ₦800 million. By July 2024, the state had already generated approximately ₦1.85 billion.
