The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) secured 30 chairmanship positions in the local government council elections held in Akwa Ibom State on Saturday.
Aniedi Ikoiwak, Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission (AKISIEC), made the announcement in a statement released on Sunday in Uyo, the state capital.
Ikoiwak further disclosed that Usoro Effiong, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, emerged victorious as the chairman of Essien Udim Local Government Council, the sole win for the APC.
The election was conducted across all 31 local government areas and 369 wards in the state.
