The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has suspended the Secretary to the Kano State Government, Dr. Abdullahi Bichi, and the Commissioner for Transport, Muhammad Diggol, over allegations of disrespecting the party’s leadership.
Kano State NNPP Chairman, Hashimu Dungurawa, announced the suspension on Monday evening, citing multiple complaints from the party’s ward and local government leadership.
According to Dungurawa, the suspension followed a thorough review of the complaints, which accused both officials of actions undermining the party’s authority. “The party cannot tolerate actions that undermine its leadership and structure. After receiving formal complaints from their wards and confirming the allegations through the local leadership, we had no choice but to take this decisive step,” Dungurawa stated.
Sulaiman Dambatta, chairman of the NNPP in Kano North, further corroborated the allegations, contributing to the party’s decision to suspend both officials.
The suspension occurred shortly after Sanusi Tofa, the spokesman for Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, announced a reconciliation between Baffa Bichi and Hamza Sule Maifata, the chairmanship candidate of Bichi Local Government.
