The DSS presence has heightened following rumors that a faction of aggrieved Northern Senators, reportedly dissatisfied with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, may be reviving efforts to unseat Akpabio. This alleged plot follows an earlier, unsuccessful attempt to remove the Senate President.
