The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced the appointment of Ben Iloanusi as its acting Managing Director, following the completion of Fidet Okhiria’s tenure. This was confirmed in a statement released on Sunday by Yakub Mahmood, the Deputy Director of Public Relations at NRC.
Okhiria concluded his second four-year term on October 18, 2024, and officially handed over responsibilities to Iloanusi, who is currently the most senior executive director within the corporation. Iloanusi, who joined the NRC in 2011, has served as the Deputy Director of Procurement since 2019.
Iloanusi holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Management from South Bank University in London, United Kingdom.
In his farewell address, Okhiria expressed gratitude to the entire NRC team for their support throughout his tenure and encouraged them to extend the same level of cooperation to his successor. “I enjoin the management and staff of the corporation to extend the same cooperation and understanding to the acting Managing Director,” he said.
In his response, Iloanusi called for the continued support of the NRC staff, welcoming constructive feedback as he navigates this transition period. He pledged to lead the corporation effectively, ensuring stability and progress during his time in office.
