Zamfara Commissioner of Information and Culture Resigns

The Zamfara State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mua’zu Haidara Kaura, has resigned from his position to contest in the upcoming local government elections in the state.

Reports indicate that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State has begun the sale of nomination forms for the local government polls, which are scheduled for November 16, 2024. PDP aspirants have already launched their campaigns across the state, with the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission (ZASIEC) announcing that the sale of nomination forms for chairmanship and councillorship positions will commence on October 25.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara has yet to make an official statement regarding their participation in the election. However, the state APC secretary, Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima, informed reporters that they are awaiting a decision from the party’s national leadership. He added that the decision, once made, would be communicated to their supporters regarding whether they will participate in the election.
