President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar met on Friday during Jummah prayers at the National Mosque in Abuja. This marks their first encounter since the conclusion of the 2023 presidential election.
Atiku, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, was a major contender against Tinubu in the election. He received 6,984,520 votes but ultimately lost to Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who won with 8,794,726 votes.
The meeting is seen as a potential step toward reconciliation between the two political figures, raising speculation about a possible easing of tensions post-election.
