Iran’s military announced that Israel conducted attacks on several of its military facilities early Saturday, resulting in “limited damage” in a few areas.
According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, Israel “targeted parts of military centers in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam.” The Iranian military claimed these attacks were “successfully intercepted and countered” by the country’s “integrated air defense system.”
Iranian officials also reported the deployment of air defense systems “in several areas around Tehran and across the country,” according to IRNA.
Israel’s military previously confirmed it had launched “precise strikes on military targets in Iran.” In a statement on Saturday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) described the strikes as a response to Iran’s ongoing aggression, alleging that Iran had been “relentlessly attacking Israel” since October 7 on multiple fronts, including “direct attacks from Iranian soil.”
This escalation highlights ongoing tensions in the region amid broader conflicts involving both nations.
