Atiku Abubakar Reunites with Former President Olusegun Obasanjo

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, recently reunited with former President Olusegun Obasanjo at a high-profile event celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Women Trafficking and Child Labour Eradication Foundation (WOTCLEF). The foundation, founded by Atiku’s wife, Mrs. Titi Abubakar, has been at the forefront of combating human trafficking and child labor in Nigeria.

In a heartfelt post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, the former Vice President expressed joy over reconnecting with his former principal and expressed admiration for Obasanjo’s steadfast support of the cause. “It was a profound privilege to reunite and walk alongside my former boss,” Atiku shared, underscoring the significance of their longstanding relationship.

The reunion marks a symbolic moment between the two statesmen, who previously served together during Obasanjo’s administration from 1999 to 2007. Despite past political differences, the two leaders appeared united in their shared commitment to addressing issues of social justice, as embodied by WOTCLEF’s mission.

Atiku also lauded Obasanjo’s dedication to advancing WOTCLEF’s initiatives, particularly in curbing human trafficking and improving the welfare of vulnerable children across Nigeria. The anniversary event highlighted the foundation’s achievements and its ongoing efforts to create a safer environment for Nigerian women and children.
