PDP Reacts to Hon. Gummi’s Defection to APC, Vows Legal Action

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed deep disappointment and concern over the recent defection of Hon. Sulaiman Ahmed Gummi to the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to the PDP, this move is not only a betrayal of the party but also a disregard for the trust placed in him by the people of Gummi/Bukkuyum, who elected him on the PDP platform.

In a statement signed by PDP Publicity Secretary Halliru Andi, the party emphasized that Hon. Gummi’s defection was not prompted by any internal party crisis, but rather reflects a lack of commitment to the ideals and values that the PDP represents. The party views his decision as an act that undermines the democratic process and the mandate entrusted to him by his constituents.

The PDP state chapter has announced it will pursue legal action to challenge Hon. Gummi’s defection, with the aim of ensuring that the mandate granted to him by the people of Gummi/Bukkuyum is upheld.

Reassuring the people of Gummi and Bukkuyum Local Government Areas, the PDP stated that it remains strong and united, committed to serving their interests and restoring the trust compromised by this defection. The party pledged to fight diligently to safeguard its integrity and the mandate of its supporters.
