Police Arrest Tinubu’s Wife Over Alleged his Assassination Plot

A 33-year-old nursing mother, Comfort Olalere Tinubu, has been taken into police custody in connection with the death of her husband, 39-year-old Olusegun Tinubu. The tragic incident occurred on the night of Wednesday, October 30, at their residence in the Adegbayi area of Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to The Nation, the couple, who married three years ago, had two young children. An anonymous family source recounted the events leading up to the incident, explaining, “I received a call around 10:03 p.m., informing me they had fought and that she allegedly stabbed him. He was taken to the hospital, but about 30 minutes later, I was informed that my younger brother had passed away.”

The altercation reportedly began when Olusegun accused his wife of locking the bedroom door early that morning and not returning until about 7 p.m. Comfort explained to police that an argument ensued, escalating when Olusegun allegedly slapped her as she was breastfeeding their baby.

A relative living with the couple reportedly intervened, separating them and advising Olusegun to spend the night in the living room. However, Comfort allegedly attacked her husband again while he was resting in the sitting room, stabbing him in the back. Olusegun was said to have screamed for help and collapsed. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The case was initially reported at the Gbagi Police Station and has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) at Iyaganku, Ibadan, for further investigation.
