President Bola Tinubu has sworn in seven newly-appointed ministers following a recent cabinet reshuffle. The swearing-in ceremony took place today, November 4, 2024, at the Council Chambers in Abuja.
The new ministers and their respective portfolios are:
- Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda – Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction
- Muhammadu Dingyadi – Minister of Labour and Employment
- Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu – Minister of State, Foreign Affairs
- Dr. Jumoke Oduwole – Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment
- Idi Maiha – Minister of Livestock Development
- Yusuf Ata – Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development
- Dr. Suwaiba Ahmad – Minister of State, Education
The Senate confirmed these appointments last week following President Tinubu’s nomination.
This development comes shortly after a significant cabinet shake-up on October 23, when President Tinubu reassigned 10 ministers to new portfolios, discharged five others, and nominated seven new ministers for Senate approval.
