A group of 114 #EndBadGovernance protesters, including 30 minors, arrived at the State House Auditorium in Abuja on Monday, following a release order from President Bola Tinubu. They were brought to the premises at around 2:00 pm, where Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Tinubu, received them. The minors and other protesters are set to be handed over to their respective state governors.
This release was facilitated by Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, after Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court in Abuja dismissed the case against the protesters, acting on a request from the Office of the Attorney-General.
Prominent figures in attendance include Deputy Senate President Jubrin Barau; Chairman of the Committee on Appropriation, Abubakar Bichi; Governors Uba Sani of Kaduna and Abba Yusuf of Kano; as well as several key ministers. These include the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa; the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Nentawe Yilwatda; and the Minister of Environment, Balarabe Lawal. Also present are the Ministers of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Tanko Sununu, and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (Northwest), Abdullahi Yakasai.
