President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday formally promoted the Acting Chief of Army Staff, Major General Olufemi Oluyede, to the rank of Lieutenant General. The brief ceremony was held in the President’s office at the State House, Abuja.
The President’s communications team released a statement saying, “President Tinubu decorates acting Chief of Army Staff, Oluyede, as Lt. General,” following the event.
President Tinubu appointed Oluyede as the Acting Chief of Army Staff last Wednesday after General Taoreed Lagbaja, his predecessor, was unable to continue in the role due to health issues that have kept him indisposed for several weeks.
