The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Audi, has issued a directive for the immediate deployment of covert security agents to educational institutions and host communities across the North-West region and other areas of the country. This initiative aims to safeguard schools from potential threats posed by bandits and various criminal elements.
Additionally, the Commandant General has emphasized the importance of these undercover agents working in close cooperation with state ministries of education and other key stakeholders.
This collaborative effort is intended to ensure the successful implementation of measures aimed at creating a safer environment for educational institutions throughout the nation.
This directive was issued during the conclusion of a capacity building program for the Safe Schools Response Team held in Kaduna State on Friday.
More than 200 NSCDC personnel, alongside local vigilantes and various stakeholders from the seven states within the North-West geopolitical zone, actively participated in a five-day specialized training program organized under the Safe Schools Initiative. This program was managed by the National Safe Schools Response Coordination Centre.
