Startling revelations emerged during the court proceedings at the Adamawa State High Court of Justice on Wednesday, uncovering the whereabouts of the suspended Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Hudu Yunusa Ari. According to the proceedings, Ari is currently residing in Niger Republic.
The defendant’s counsel, Suleiman Usman (SAN), confirmed this revelation, informing the court of his client’s presence in Niger Republic alongside his other wife. Usman assured the court of his commitment to producing Ari in court and requested an adjournment to facilitate his client’s appearance.
Amidst the unfolding drama, the prosecution sought a warrant of arrest for the absent defendant. However, Judge Benjamin Manji Lawan decided against issuing the warrant, considering the appearance of the defendant’s counsel and their pledge to produce Ari in court.
Consequently, the case has been adjourned to December 6 for the arraignment of the suspended REC, Hudu Yunusa Ari. The startling revelation of his residence in Niger Republic adds a new twist to this ongoing legal saga.
