President Bola Tinubu has wielded his executive authority, ushering in a transformative era within the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). Effective December 1, 2023, a fresh Board and Management team have been appointed, heralding a significant shift in the company’s leadership landscape.
The newly appointed officials include Chief Pius Akinyelure, assuming the mantle of Non-Executive Board Chairman, alongside Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari, appointed as the Group Chief Executive Officer. Accompanying them in key roles are Alhaji Umar Isa Ajiya, who takes on the pivotal position of Chief Financial Officer, and a cadre of experienced professionals such as Mr. Ledum Mitee, Mr. Musa Tumsa, Mr. Ghali Muhammad, Prof. Mustapha Aliyu, Mr. David Ogbodo, and Ms. Eunice Thomas, all joining as Non-Executive Directors.
Furthermore, President Tinubu’s directive extended to the appointment of two distinguished individuals as Permanent Secretaries: Mr. Okokon Ekanem Udo, designated as Permanent Secretary for the Federal Ministry of Finance, and Amb. Gabriel Aduda, appointed as Permanent Secretary for the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
