In a significant development, the Zamfara State Commandant of Community Protection Guards, Colonel Rabiu Garba Yandoto (rtd), has confirmed the apprehension of two of his operatives in connection with the tragic killing of Islamic Cleric Liman Hassan Mada.
Colonel Yandoto vehemently asserted that the state command bears no responsibility for the arrest and subsequent demise of the Islamic Cleric, emphasizing the independence of the state command from such reprehensible actions.
“We have apprehended individuals who were implicated in this heinous act, and they will undergo thorough interrogation before being transferred to the Department of State Security for further investigation,” stated Colonel Yandoto, underscoring his commitment to upholding the rule of law within his ranks.
As the Commandant, Colonel Yandoto unequivocally declared his refusal to shield any personnel found to be in contravention of the law, reaffirming his resolve to ensure justice prevails in this matter.
“Upon completion of our internal investigation, those found culpable in the murder of the late Imam Hassan Mada will be promptly handed over to the police for prosecution,” he reiterated, highlighting the paramount importance of accountability and transparency in upholding public trust.
Colonel Yandoto clarified that, in accordance with the established protocols governing the operations of the guard, any arrests must be sanctioned by the state leadership, with deviations from this protocol deemed illegal and unacceptable.
