Zamfara: Police Arrest Suspected Female Bandit Collaborator in Tsafe

Zamfara State Police Command announced the arrest of Nafisa Alhaji Sani, a female suspected of collaborating with bandits, in Tsafe Local Government Area.

Commissioner of Police Shehu Muhammad Dalijan stated that Nafisa confessed to her involvement during interrogation.

“On February 18, 2024, at approximately 17:30, a police team acted on credible information and apprehended Nafisa Alhaji Sani of Kauyen Magaji for her suspected collaboration with bandits in Tsafe Local Government Area.

“During questioning, the suspect admitted to supplying live ammunition to Alti, a bandit kingpin operating in Babban Kauye forest, and orchestrating the abduction of her friend in exchange for a promised ransom.

“On February 10, 2024, at around 16:00, police detectives raided Alti’s residence in Babban Kauye, seizing an AK-47 rifle and two locally made AK-47 guns with ammunition.

“The investigation is ongoing to apprehend the bandit kingpin for prosecution.

“Additionally, on February 7, 2024, at about 14:30, intelligence led to the discovery of bandits holding a meeting at a house in Mada Village, Gusau Local Government Area, owned by Dogo Hamza, a notorious bandit in the area.

“Upon receiving the information, police mobilized and cordoned off the house, causing the bandits to flee and leaving behind the recovered exhibits. Monitoring and surveillance patrols are ongoing in the area,” CP Dalijan stated.
