Executive Chairman of the board Alhaji Altine Shehu Kajiji made the pledge today while interacting with teachers of the Muhammad ZAKU model primary school in continuation of his unscheduled visit to schools under Sokoto SUBEB.
From a statement signed by the SUBEB public relations officer, Abbas Tukur Sanyinna, a copy of which was made available to the Spectacles on Monday 21th March 2022.
Kajiji told them that since his appointment as Executive Chairman of the board, he resort to paying unscheduled visit to schools so as to see things for himself rather than staying in the office to receive files.
According to him the burden of basic education in the state is huge as such one can not stay in the office and assume things are going as expected.
Alhaji Altine Shehu said as a season teacher who knows nothing but teaching,he always have the concern and sympathy to teachers in particular and teaching profession in general.
He called on teachers in the state to be alive to their responsibility of imparting sound knowledge and moral upbringing of their pupils as the state government under the able leadership of governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal is doing everything humanly possible to improving their welfare.
Turning to understaffing as complain by some teachers and Head Teacher of the school, kajiji promised to post additional teachers to the school which according to it’s Head Teacher has over three thousand pupils but with only 25 teachers.
Also speaking the Director Mobilisation of the board Alhaji Kabiru Aliyu told the teachers that the board has design many programs aim at teachers and teaching in the state.
Alhaji Kabiru Aliyu while responding to lack of furniture for teachers in classes, donated one hundred thousand naira on behalf of SUBEB chairman for the purchase of staff chairs as an interim measure pending the provision of adequate ones.
He called on other stakeholders such as SBMC and PTA of the school to be assisting the school by effecting minor repairs rather than waiting for the government.
