In response to a resurgence of thug activities, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, led a patrol team to several affected communities in the state metropolis. On Wednesday, the Commissioner visited parts of Gwale, Dala, and Kumbotso Local Government Areas to assess the security situation and engage with community members.
During the patrol, CP Garba received firsthand information from the residents and assured them of his commitment to maintaining peace and order in the state. The command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed this in a statement, adding that the Commissioner also met with community leaders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to strategize on combating the security threat and restoring peace.
CP Garba emphasized that security is a collective effort and called for public support, stating, “All hands need to be on deck to safeguard the well-being of all law-abiding residents in the State.”
The statement highlighted ongoing investigations into the recent incidents of thuggery in Dala, Dorayi, and Sharada-Ja’in Quarters. CP Garba assured the public that their safety and security are the top priority of the Police Command. Efforts are underway to arrest the perpetrators and their sponsors, ensuring they face the full extent of the law.
