Kaduna Police Arrest 35 Suspected Phone Snatchers in Metropolitan Raids

The Kaduna State Police Command has detained 35 individuals suspected of phone snatching following a series of targeted raids in the Kaduna metropolis.

The arrests were confirmed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, in a statement released to journalists on Saturday. According to ASP Hassan, the operation was carried out by the command’s anti-vice section in response to a recent surge in phone snatching incidents across the state.

“The operation, which took place between 7:00 PM and 11:45 PM from Tuesday to Friday, was conducted in strict adherence to the directives of the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Audu Dabigi,” ASP Hassan said.

The raids were concentrated on known crime hotspots within the metropolitan area, resulting in the detention of 35 suspects, including two women. According to the police, the suspects were found in possession of dangerous weapons, marijuana, and other illicit substances.

ASP Hassan further stated that the Commissioner of Police assured the public that those found culpable would be profiled and prosecuted accordingly.

The statement reiterated the Kaduna Police Command’s commitment to curbing criminal activities in the state and maintaining law and order.
