The Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has officially appointed Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya as the 17th Emir of Ningi, bestowing upon him the title of 1st Class Emir.
According to a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Comrade Mukhtar Muhammad Gidado, the appointment is made under the authority granted by Cap. 24 Item 3 (1) of the Bauchi State Laws (Appointment of Emirs/Chiefs and Deposition 1991) and is based on the recommendations of the traditional kingmakers.
The Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, Barrister İbrahim Muhammad Kashim, conveyed the appointment in an official letter.
The Bauchi State Government expressed confidence in the new Emir’s capacity to uphold the legacy of his late father, particularly in fostering unity, peace, and development within the Ningi Emirate and the broader Bauchi State. The government reiterated its commitment to supporting traditional institutions, recognizing their crucial role in maintaining peace and progress within communities.
Governor Bala also offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the late Emir’s soul and wished the new Emir good health, a long life, and a successful reign.
Born in Ningi in 1956, Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya previously held the title of Chiroman Ningi. He is happily married with children.
