The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is currently in a closed-door meeting with the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Senator Adolphus Wabara. The meeting, which took place on Tuesday night, is seen as part of ongoing efforts to address internal crises within the party.
In August, the PDP BoT had formally requested a meeting with Wike, seeking to resolve party disputes, particularly in Rivers State. This followed an earlier meeting between the BoT and Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
Journalists were not permitted to attend, and the meeting is still ongoing at the time of this report.
