FG: 25 Million Nigerians Benefit from ₦25,000 Conditional Cash Transfer

The Federal Government announced on Thursday that 25 million Nigerians have benefitted from its ₦25,000 conditional cash transfer program.

Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, made this disclosure following a National Economic Council (NEC) meeting chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Edun detailed steps taken by President Bola Tinubu’s administration to ease the economic strain caused by the removal of fuel subsidies and other policy adjustments.

He reported that the program has supported five million households with direct cash transfers, a significant measure aimed at economic relief.

Additionally, Edun noted that within the past five days, around 11,000 individuals have received ₦3.5 billion through a consumer credit scheme.

He also highlighted that over ₦90 billion has been disbursed to half a million Nigerian students through a student loan program, emphasizing the government’s commitment to education and economic support.
