The call was made today by the State Deputy Governor Senator Hassan Muhammad (Jarman Gusau) in a speech at his office on the occasion marking the formal presentation of appointment letters to the newly enthroned Emirs of Zurmi and Dansadau Emirates.
According to the Deputy Governor, leaders of the traditional institutions, being them custodians of revered societal norms and values, have a greater role to play in the administration of justice to ensure a sustainable security atmosphere in their respective Emirates.
In a statement signed by the Director-General Press Affairs, Deputy Governor’s Office, Comrade Babangida Umar Zurmi, ANIPR, said the recipients of the exalted positions, the two royal fathers, Sarkin Zamfaran Zurmi Alhaji Muhammad Bello Suleman and Sarkin Kudun Dansadau Alhaji Garba Muhammad were told by the Deputy Governor that their appointments by His Excellency Governor Bello Matawalle were based on merit and positive recommendations by their respective kingmakers and reports from other concerned institutions on their good moral behaviours and track records of service to humanity.
Jarman Gusau, while urging them to carry their subjects along with all sincerity of purpose and justice, also called on Sarkin Zamfara Zurmi and Sarkin Kudun Dansadau to diversify all possible strategies for addressing security issues and ensure relaying promptly to the State Government situation report on major challenges for necessary action.
In their separate speeches, the Emirs of Zurmi and Dansadau, on behalf of their families and the entire people of the two Emirates, thanked the State Governor Dr Bello Matawalle, his Deputy Senator Hassan Muhammad and top Governor officials concerned for their contributions towards the realization of their dreams with their appointment as Emirs of their respective domains.
Their Royal Highnesses assured the State Government of their unalloyed support and cooperation with all government policies and programmes for rapid socio-economic development of the State.
In attendance at the occasion were several prominent State political actors, Emir of Kaura Namoda Sarkin Kiyawa Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad Asha and his counterpart of Moriki Sarki Burmi Alhaji Bashir Ismaila Ari the Third, high-level civil servants, religious leaders, district heads from the two Emirates, youths, and well-wishers, among many others.
